Savannah Toastmasters Speechcraft Graduates March 2014 Class of Professional Women

(SAVANNAH, GA) Savannah Toastmasters announces the graduation of the 2014 Savannah Speechcraft for Professional Women class. The 4-session course was developed by Toastmasters International to boost professional women’s communication skills.

Participants from business, law, education, and nonprofit organizations prepared and delivered three speeches during the workshop. Seasoned Toastmaster mentors instructed participants on communicating effectively, planning and delivering speeches, and impromptu speaking.

Marjorie Young, CEO of Carriage Trade PR, Inc. and lead sponsor of the course, said, “The supportive environment was a wonderful growth and development opportunity for Savannah’s professional women to achieve success in their professional, community, and personal lives by improving their communications skills with Speechcraft.”

Jessica Neeley, President of the Small Business Chamber of Toastmasters and chairperson of the course added, “The Toastmasters program has been beneficial to me on a professional level and on a personal level, through meeting other women and men who value professional development and community service.”

Sessions were held at The Creative Coast on York Street downtown Savannah. For information on upcoming Speechcraft courses, email savannahspeechcraft@gmail.com or visit http://www.facebook.com/savannahspeechcraft.

The Savannah area Toastmasters clubs that co-sponsored the Speechcraft course included: Savannah Club #705, Small Business Chamber Toastmasters, and Hostess City Toastmasters.

PRSSA Meeting with Guest Speaker

Standard

In late February or early March, PRSSA invited an alumni to speak to our club about her professional experience in Public Relations.  She discussed how she started her profession and what path she followed as she built her experience.

After the presentation was over, I asked her what tips she had to building my father’s company’s PR.  She gave me several suggestions, some of which I have implemented.
